About This Place

Nestled in a cozy strip mall just off Las Vegas’ bustling Tropicana Avenue, Badger Cafe is a charming gem that offers classic American diner fare with a comforting, homestyle twist. This beloved neighborhood spot seamlessly blends the vibes of a breakfast restaurant, bar & grill, and casual cafe—making it a versatile destination for any meal of the day.

From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere feels like a secret hideaway away from the glitz of the Strip. The intimate seating area encourages relaxed conversation and a down-to-earth dining experience, enhanced by the friendly and witty service that patrons consistently praise. Whether you drop in at 2 a.m. like Angel Crowley did or enjoy brunch with friends, Badger Cafe’s staff makes you feel like a welcomed guest in their own home.

The menu here reads like a love letter to classic American comfort food, elevated by fresh ingredients and care in preparation. Coffee lovers will find their fix alongside hearty breakfast favorites such as the Chicken Fried Steak, crispy and yet tender; the Farmers Omelette, brimming with farm-fresh eggs and savory fillings; and the indulgent French Toast or Apple Pie that offer sweet, nostalgic finishes. If you’re craving something more substantial, the Build Your Own Burger and Fries option lets you customize a juicy, perfectly grilled burger to your liking, paired with golden, crispy fries.

Don’t overlook the café’s unique specialties like the Poor Man's Eggs Benedict, a delightful twist on the classic, or the Patty Melt on Rye, a grilled masterpiece with melty cheese and savory beef that earned high marks in customer reviews. For fans of pub-style eats, the Chicken Tenders and Deep Fried Cheese Curds deliver the perfect balance of crunch and flavor.

The menu also offers fresh salads and soups—like the vibrant Taco Salad with seasoned meat nestled in a crispy tortilla shell and the light, refreshing Stuffed Tuna Salad that livens up any lunch hour. South of the border flavors come into play with their savory Quesadilla and crisp tacos, adding a zesty, satisfying option to the lineup.

What truly sets Badger Cafe apart is its sincerity and consistency. Customers like Tim Cocchia have shared how the simple, well-executed dishes bring joy, especially with the attentive, personable waitstaff enhancing the overall experience. True to form, Maria Bullis appreciates the cozy ambiance away from the hustle of the Strip, while Fluffy Lorree Ituarte raves about their flavorful burgers and crispy wings. Even when a dish like the pot roast or soup doesn’t completely hit the mark, the overall dining experience remains warm and welcoming, embodying the spirit of a classic American diner.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick breakfast burrito, craving a hearty lunch platter, or just in need of a friendly place to unwind with a coffee and an apple pie slice, Badger Cafe consistently delivers honest, satisfying fare. It’s the kind of local spot that makes you feel at home the moment you walk through the door—and keeps you coming back for more.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - we ordered the daily special of Pot Roast and a Farmer’s Breakfast with over easy eggs and chicken fried steak. The pot roast was tender but the sauce was a bit gloopy and thick. The mashed potatoes were good but the green beans flavorless and soggy. We’re not quite sure what the soup of the day was but we know it wasn’t good. The Farmer’s Breakfast was good but the steak was a bit over and dry. The toast was EXTREMELY buttered which was great for one of us. Ambience: 4/5 - attached to a Rum Runner gaming place, we were a bit hesitant to walk into the little shop. However, it was quite cozy inside but the tables are packed together! The location does seem a bit more run down though. Service: 5/5 - friendly and attentive and made some recommendations on the menu. Value for price: 4/5 - cheap and quick eat for any hour of the day!

Classic cafe. Don’t shy away because it’s in a strip mall attached to a bar. This little place is a gem for simple classic food that you will love to eat. Very small seating area but everything we ate was excellent. Service was amazing! Our waitress was was everything you want in a small friendly diner. We were searching for a place to eat on the way out of town and 100 percent will be back here again.

This little diner (added onto the Packers bar next door in the 90's) is just perfect! Exactly the kind of service and taste you would expect from a hole-in-the-wall spot on the outskirts of any big city. A small spot with the open-air griddle right there so you can see your food being made freshly. We tried the burger, onion rings, wings, banger sandwich, and apple pie. Prices were great and so was the food. I think the August wing flavor was called Uni and we LOVED it! Be sure and end your meal with a slice of apple pie, the ONLY dessert choice, for just $3.50. Can't wait to try the breakfast sometime!
